In early 2004, Marathon Banking Corporation completed the acquisition of Interbank of New York with its simultaneous merger of Marathon Bank of New York. The merger doubled the number of branches operating in Queens, Brooklyn, and Manhattan.

Marathon Bank is proud to be growing with its clientele. In late 2005, Marathon Bank opened its doors in Fort Lee, New Jersey. The expansion marked a milestone for the company since the Fort Lee branch is the first branch to serve customers outside of New York.
